Abstract

Abstract Monolayer-dispersed two-dimensional (2-D) nickel sulfide nanosheets have been synthesized by a simple microemulsion-assisted hydrothermal process. It has been found that the 2-D nanosheets can roll into one-dimensional (1-D) nanoneedles. The mechanisms of the sulfuration reaction and the formation of low-dimensional (LD) nanostructures were discussed.
