Abstract
Abstract Resonance Raman spectra were measured for Mg, Zn, and Cu tetraphenylporphines and their π-cation radicals. On one-electron oxidation Raman bands from porphine ring modes show frequency shifts, the magnitudes of which depend on the kind of central metal ions and the nodal structure of the a2u HOMO of the metalloporphines.
