Abstract

The chromosomal location of the rat interferon-α (IFNA) gene cluster was determined by fluorescence in situ hybridization. The fluorescent signals were localized to 5q31→q33. A previous report, using somatic cell hybrids, had suggested that the IFNA locus maps at a different region on rat chromosome 5.
