Abstract
The critical temperature of superconductivity based on a new mechanism proposed by Anderson and Hirsch is calculated by use of the Hubbard model and the coherent potential approximation to treat strong correlation. It is found that the critical temperature, T c, has a maximum at around quarter-filling of the band with T c∼te-c(U/t) where t and U are the transfer integral and the Coulomb interaction, respectively, and c is a constant of order unity.
