Abstract

The superconducting energy gap in single crystals of NbSe2, a layer structure, has been determined to be anisotropic by measuring the far-infrared transmission spectrum. The gap for electron velocities in the layers is [Formula: see text] and for velocities perpendicular to the layers is [Formula: see text]. These results are compared with recent tunneling experiments.
