Abstract
During some experiments in this laboratory on electron impacts in helium, it was observed that in addition to electrons which had made the most probable transition impact (1 1 S 0 — 2 1 P 1 ) there were a few which showed a loss indicating 2 (1 1 S 0 — 2 1 P 1 ) and others showing a loss approximately equal to 3 (1 1 S 0 — 2 1 P 1 ). The present note is concerned with this last mentioned loss.
