/ “Purification of Laboratory Chemicals, Third Edition,” by Perrin D. D. (1988)- Amine substituted compounds 1d, 2d were stable at ambient conditions for only brief time periods. Therefore, significant decomposition occurred during attempts to obtain pure samples for elemental analysis. This demonstrated lack of stability in no way hindered us in the use of these compounds in further synthetic reactions. So long as the subsequent reactions were performed within a few hours of distillation, little decomposition was evidenced.
