Interference of reaction channels for highly exothermic electron transfer reactions

Abstract

The interference of electronic transitions to different vibronic states of the product is considered. The restrictions on the additivity of their rates are established. The upper limit of the full rate is found for the case when interference is significant. It cannot exceed the maximum rate in the fastest channel.
