An application of the osmotic equation to a polyelectrolyte solution

Abstract

An attempt to use the osmotic equation in deriving the osmotic coefficient and activity coefficients in a polyelectrolyte solution is reported. In spite of some problems which appear in the process, it is possible to derive valid limiting behavior of polyelectrolytes.
