On the electrical resistivity of high-purity nickel

Abstract

The dependence of the electrical resistivity of high-purity Ni on circular and longitudinal magnetic fields was determined. In a longitudinal magnetic field of 250 Oe the specific electrical resistivity for a wire of 60 μm diameter was found to be ρ4.2 °K=2.7×10−9 Ω cm. The influence of temperature on the electrical resistivity is determined between 1.5 and 4.2 °K and between 23 and 1130 °C.
