Abstract
The temperature dependence of the chlorine nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time between the pure quadrupole levels has been measured as a function of temperature in sodium chlorate and paradichlorobenzene. The results are compared with Chang's theory and found to be in good agreement. The Debye temperatures necessary to establish a fit with Chang's theory are 200°K and 90°K for sodium chlorate and paradichlorobenzene, respectively. The measurements were made in the temperature interval 300–10°K.
