Abstract
Self-diffusion coefficients for Kr have been measured in the temperature range from 195°K to 1036°K. The present results are the only self-diffusion coefficients reported as a function of temperature which are consistent with viscosity and thermal conductivity data for the pure gas. A relation between the isotopic thermal diffusion factor, and the self-diffusion coefficient and the viscosity which takes into account higher approximations in the Chapman-Enskog theory has been developed. The derived values of the thermal diffusion factor show surprisingly good agreement with the directly measured values.
