Abstract
Vibrational relaxation times for DF–DF and HF–HF have been measured by laser fluorescence over the temperature range 300–1000 °K. The results coincide with shock tube data above 1000 °K and show temperature dependence for DF relaxation similar to that for HF. Also, DF–HF relaxation times, determined up to 573 °K, were found to reside between the values for DF and HF self-relaxation. Comparisons are made with current theories for vibrational relaxation.
