This paper describes a novel experimental method for the investigation of the dynamic activity of complex fluids. This method allows to perform simultaneously a space and time resolved investigation of soft matter systems. In this case the drying process of a colloidal dispersion (paint film) is monitored via maps of the system dynamical activity. A peculiar speckle-echo illumination scheme allows to achieve simultaneously a high-resolution both in time and space, relying on an externally generated large number of statistically independent replicas of the signal of interest.
