) / Phys. Rev. Lett. by J.F. Fernandez (1983) - The coincidence between the breakdown of our matching procedure forH (p=1) and the relevance of the periodic lattice potential inH (p=2) ford>2 in the caseh=0,T?0 seems to be accidental. Similar, forT=0,h?0 the breakdown of the matching procedure forH (p=1) ford>3 does not imply immediately the existence of a finite roughening field strengthh R . In the random rod model (h(r,z) does not depend onz) [3, 4, 5] perturbation expansion forH (p=2) shows the relevance of thev-term ford>4 ifh is small. Using the Villain relation [4, 5] between the random rod model and the RFIM, we find thev-term inH (p=2) relevant ford>3.5 andh small. However, in Sect. 5 we give an argument which leads tod R ? =d l +1=3 forH (p=1). In both cases the lattice potential turns out to be irrelevant ford=3 and relevant ford=4
