- In Ref. 7 numerical calculations based on the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick solution [2] were presented. This solution has a reentrant ferromagnetic phase boundary, and thus some qualitative similarity to the ?raw data? of the experiment was noted. Note, however, that this solution is incorrect, and the presumably correct [3] mean-field phase diagram does not show this reentrancy (Fig. 1C)

According to a different argument by Aharony, A.: Solid State Commun.28, 667 (1978); any random disorder in the Hamiltonian, Eq. (23), should destroy long-range ferromagnetic order. Additional cubic anisotropy terms restore ferromagnetic order, however, and may lead to a first-order transition, with a spin-glass state above it. However, experimental evidence for this mechanism seems to be lacking.
