Abstract

AbstractA torsional oscillator model is proposed, as an alternative to the two‐state model, to explain the temperature dependencies of the optical properties of the dinucleoside phosphates. The assumptions upon which the model is based are discussed, and the predicted temperature dependencies of the optical properties of ApA are compared with the experimental results of Davis and Tinoco. A brief discussion of other models of this type is included.
