Abstract
AbstractAn experimental method has been developed for measuring solubilities of organic solids in supercritical fluids. These solubilities are determined by measuring the volume of gas passing through the equilibrium cell and the difference of the mass of pure solid samples placed in this cell. For mixtures of organic solids, the mass difference, the gas volume, and the composition of solid phase taken from the gas after expansion have to be determined. Special design of the equilibrium cell allowing the control of saturation has been proposed. This method has been successfully used for measuring solubilities of organic solids such as fluorene, anthracene, phenanthrene, carbazole. Solubilities of mixtures of two organic solids have also been determined.
