- In ML1 weaker diffraction spots corresponding to aZ= 4 unit cell were found. Test simulations performed without enforcing periodic boundary conditions (pbc) produced the disappearance of theZ= 4 feature in the diffraction pattern which is therefore considered an artifact of pbc as well as the coincidence‐II epitaxy [49] between the pentacene and C60lattices (b1= 2/3a1–1/7a2 b2= 1/14a1+ 3/7a2; whereaiandbiare the lattice basis vectors for C60and pentacene). The relative orientation of the two lattices is instead a genuine effect that also survives in simulations with relaxed periodic boundary conditions.
